Spiritual Practice Eases the Mind
Spiritual Practice Eases the Mind
Although
from a material perspective, we are wealthier and physically improved, sadly, not
so many people are really happy. How could
this be? This is because the people’s minds are polluted and in degradation. Although
we have better physical life, we do not have better spiritual life. People live
without sense of security. People do not know how to ease their mind. People
work very hard to survive, which in turn makes the whole society unease. How
can we find the peace in our mind amongst the stressful society? Spiritual
practice eases one’s mind, which detaches us from the polluted environment.

"To Make a Killing on Wall Street, Start Meditating" By Katherine Burton and Anthony Effinger
Meditation seems
to be a mystery to many people due to it brings lots of benefits which might be
hard to express by others. However, more and more people gain through
practicing by themselves and would like to share their experiences, including
those businessmen in Wall Street. "Meditation’s arrival on Wall Street closes a circle of sorts. Whereas Siddhartha
Gautama took to the lotus position out of frustration with his riches, traders
are hitting the mat to obtain them."

Transcendental

"Not Enough Time? Try Doing Nothing" by Peter Bregman, Harvard Business Review
"Not Enough Time? Try Doing Nothing" by Peter Bregman on Harvard
Business Review webpage.
Many people may wish we could have more time, than the twenty four hours of one day. However, everyone only has 24 hours a day. How do we schedule our time and make it works so we could achieve our goals? People might be busier than usual and sometimes struggle on following though with their schedules. This is one of the major
reasons to a highly pressured life.
Look through this week's article, you
might find that giving ourselves a short break will bring up our
efficiencies way beyond our imagination. Bergman says, "Here’s the most interesting thing: sitting and
doing nothing has made me significantly more efficient. 20 minutes of
meditation helps me avoid hours of time lost in unproductive thought,
unconstructive comments, and unstrategic actions."
Jump out of your comfort zone, we need some breaks to increase our efficiency. Let's practice Chan Meditation.
