October Mindfulness Retreat
We will be combining sitting meditation with other activities such as a ‘Dinner of Awakening’ (where we concentrate on every aspect of eating dinner), moving/martial Chan lessons, Taiwanese tea appreciation combined with mindfulness and a special class from a very special guest. We also have plenty of time scheduled for just sitting around and catching up with friends – both old and new.
The theme of the retreat is on dealing with our day-to-day lives between sitting meditations and trying to ‘live Chan’ a little more.
Because we will have essentially exclusive use of this temple and its facilities the costs of this retreat are slightly higher than in the past. As usual this includes the cost of all accommodation, food, travel and activities. The cost for this retreat is NTD$1500. We think that around USD$50 is reasonable for an entire weekend of food and activity, however, if this would cause you genuine difficulties and stop you from otherwise attending, then please discuss, in total confidence, with Teresa or Kishi.Experience Chan - Thursday 13th September 2012

Joy

After you get up in the morning,
Feel the joy in your heart.
This joy
Can make your blood circulate merrily all through you.
And let each and every cell obtain this joyful nourishment,
This is a key in Chan practice.
